Hello, my name is Mrs. Okerman. I am the 2nd grade teacher at IC Catholic School. I have been teaching for fourteen years. I taught in the public school system for ten years before taking time off to stay home and raise my children. This is my fourth year at IC School. I completed my Bachelors Degree in Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education, at the University of North Dakota. My Mutiple-Subject Clear Credential was completed at Cal Poly Pomona. My husband Bob and I have been married for twenty-nine years and we have three boys. All three are in college, two at Citrus Community College and the other at Arizona State University. As a family, we enjoy the outdoors: camping, hiking, water sports, and snow skiing. We also enjoy working in our yard together, traveling and trying out new restaurants.
Teaching children, over the years, has been truly inspiring and rewarding. But, teaching at IC School has been even more so. For me it is a gift to be able to go to work each day knowing that I have the opportunity not only to make a difference in children’s lives, but also to teach my second grade students about their Catholic Faith and prepare them to make their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
