Sports

The sports program at Immaculate Conception School  is played under the rules and regulations of CYO (Catholic Youth Organization www.cyousa.org). The sports program is offered at the JV level to the 5th and 6th grade and at the Varsity level to the 7th and 8th grade.  On occasion under certain circumstances a 6th grader may play at the Varsity level. At the JV level we strongly encourage the coaches to teach the athletes the basics so they get a strong foundation of the sport. While the Varsity level is much more competitive and aggressive, fine tuning of the sport is taught at a higher level to help prepare the athletes for high school sports. A minimum 2.0 GPA (“C” grade) is required of all athletes to participate in the sports program. Please see Parent-Student Handbook  for more details.  For the 2013 – 2014 school year, Mr. Rey Barrasa will serve as the Athletic Director.

Sports are selected based on student interest and the availability of coaches.  In recent years, we have competed in the following sports:
