Principal’s Message

August 14, 2013

Dear IC Catholic School Families,

I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to welcome your child to Immaculate Conception (IC) Catholic School. I am eager and excited about the 2013–2014 school year.  In addition to returning families, we have many new families who will be joining our school community.  To all parents, we know that you have many choices for your children’s education.  Thank you for entrusting to us the education of your children.  The faculty and staff, in partnership with parents, are committed to developing students who are faith based, spiritual, life-long learners, who exemplify the pursuit of excellence in all opportunities found in our global community.  We are dedicated to providing a quality education so that “a Catholic Education is an Advantage for Life”.

School Start Date, Hours, and Minimum Days

School resumes Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. The first week of school will be early dismissal at 12:00 noon.  This year, and every Wednesday thereafter, dismissal is at 12:00 p.m. This time is used to accommodate faculty and staff meetings, which will help to enhance teacher professional development and to prepare for WASC.  Extended Morning and After-School Care will be provided by the school for a fee.

School Masses

Every Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. students and teachers will gather for a school wide mass.  Students must be in their formal mass attire.  Also, once a month students and their families will attend monthly Sunday family mass at 10:00 a.m.  This mass is sponsored by the teachers, students, and families of Immaculate Conception School.

This year is a transitional year.  For returning families, students may wear their ICA uniforms until they wear out.  New Families, boys will be allowed to wear navy, light blue and white polos.
